"Service was very poor"
Alan Swindell (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Service was very poor. Waiter on his mobile. He seems unable to remove used items from table. 30 minutes so far on this call. You need to buy everything here. A slice of lemon for your tea, 500kzt. A beer (in a city bar 500kzt) here 2800. Remember before entering to visit the bank for a loan. Or do not bother, like the only waiter here.

"food or drinks you must pay"
1 reviews Alan Sargeant (Australia)
Not Verified | The lounge is run by the airport and the only benefit is that it has a more private WiFi than the public areas of the airport. If you want any food or drinks you must pay for them. There is a toilet. There seems to be enough space for those using it and it is quieter than the public areas of the airport.

"one of the worst I have been in"
9 reviews Alan Sargeant (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | As a Business Lounge this is one of the worst I have been in. Only the toilet and WiFi are free. It is relatively small and is really only a place to sit while you wait for the flight. It is a bit quieter than in the general waiting area and that is the only positive. I spend only the minimum time here. I understand that the problem is with the airport and not the company (they have quite a good lounge in Astana) and that it will not be fixed until the airport is redeveloped.

"lack of shower and proper food service"
1 reviews S Karnot (Russian Federation)
✅ Trip Verified | Business class lounge of Air Astana at Astana airport, Domestic departures. The lounge is small and quite, perfectly designed, provides small snacks and beverages, newspapers and magazines, excellent WiFi. Despite lack of shower and proper food service it looks sufficient for domestic flights

"I was so disgusted"
L Shield (United States)
✅ Verified Review | This lounge was shared by multiple airlines. I was flying Air Astana from Almaty Kazakhstan to Bishkek Kyrgyzstan in business class. The lounge was small but so was the airport. Seating was not entirely comfortable yet it was more comfortable than the main airport’s single crowded room. There was a small bar and small cold snack food layout. When I first entered and dropped my bag on a chair, I went to check out the food selection. I was asked by the bartender what airline I was flying. When I told him Astana he informed me the buffet was not for me, but I could purchase it. Being that the food looked meager in selection and low in quality, I did not inquire about the cost. So then I went to the bar and looked into the cooler at the drink selection. I was then informed the drinks were not for me either, but I could buy it. I asked, “even a water I have to pay for?” “yes, even water you buy” was his reply. I was so disgusted to be informed this that I didn’t inquire the cost of that either. Because I had about 6 hours at this airport, I had purchased the upgrade to business for this 30 min flight solely for the lounge access. It turned out to be money completely wasted. It also turned out that internet (WiFi) was not even included in this lounge. I would not pay for an upgrade on Air Astana again in the future.

"the worst Business Class Lounge"
Alan Sargeant (Australia)
This is the worst Business Class Lounge I have ever visited! For a four star airline and in their home airport the Lounge is a joke! It is merely somewhere a little quieter to wait for a flight. No complimentary food or drink, no secure WiFi and their free WiFi doesn't work in many areas of the lounge. I am waiting for a late night flight and was planning on a light snack so that I could sleep on the plane. It is just as well as I do not judge the airline by its home lounge or I would be recommending against Air Astana which is the best Airline I have flown in the countries of the former Soviet Union.

"shrug their shoulders and walk away"
Neil Foster (United States)
This is by far the worst business class Lounge that I've been in during my 29 years of business travel. The sign at the front desk says it all. The airline does not provide food or beverages in the lounge, you have to pay for everything. I've never seen this in 29 years of business travel. The staff are completely apathetic, they simply ignore customers when approached with a problem. They just shrug their shoulders and walked away. They do not have dedicated internet service for the lounge and the airport internet service is abysmal at best. It took me over 2 hours just to connect my phone to the Wi-Fi. I have been unable to connect my laptop. I have had better service in far less developed countries. You mention this to the staff they shrug their shoulders and walk away. The only so-called business class Lounge that came close to being this bad was in Shenyang China in the mid-1990s. I'm sure that has improved.

"Its basically just seats in a bar"
J Williams (United Kingdom)
I wouldn't really call it a business class lounge. Its basically just seats in a bar that are reserved for Business Class passengers. There are no free refreshments and although there are a wide range of drinks and snacks available they are all quite expensive.

"somewhat small this is the single airport lounge"
Bertrand Chauffier (United Kingdom)
Somewhat small this is the single airport lounge at Almaty Airport what I believe services all airlines. Seating areas ok small bar and food counter to one side. I could not get my laptop to access any wifi. There was a computer station with internet access at one end of the room but the airport staff seemed to be using this when I visited! A small bathroom area 2 Tv's but not much else.
