"My luggage was lost"

(South Africa)

Trip Verified | My luggage was lost during my trip from NY to Atlanta. The wrong label was attached when I had to book my luggage at departures due to the plane being too full to accommodate my hand luggage. The bag was found being sent to Nebraska but on its way back to Atlanta Delta once again lost my bag. I had to spend my whole vacation in USA without all of my personal belongings. Not impressed.

"unacceptable and disgusting"

(United States)

Trip Verified |   I’m writing this review for my 90 year old mother. She took a first class flight from Lisbon to Norfolk Va. her flight was diverted back to JFK. When she arrived she along with 3 other senior citizens waited for wheelchairs that never came. All of Deltas staff adandonded them leaving them. She was forced to walk through JFK and sleep on the floor. At 5am when someone finally got to the desk. My mother asked again for a wheelchair and to be taken to the lounge. Again no wheelchair appeared. She then had to sleep on the floor until the flight which she had to walk again. Two one hour calls to delta later. Still no answers. This is elder abuse. And they should be prosecuted. It has now been 12 days and no response from delta. Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. I only hope their mothers never have to endure such horrible abuse.

"worse service I have ever had"

(United States)

Not Verified | The flight over to Rome was the worse service I have ever had. The food was terrible. No wine was offered after dinner or during dinner. Staff was rude. And no water was offered. I am a sky miles member.

"Overall decent experience"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | Montreal to LaGuardia, the flight was on time, really small aircraft. As I entered the plane, by default I spoke in French (Montrealer) and the crew member very aggressively told me "No French, English Only", I realized my mistake and apologies and asked a question in English. Crew served only water upon request. LaGuardia to Miami, the flight was full, cabin crew was extraordinarily nice and smiley. IFE was available. Entire flight, the turbulence was pretty bad so crew wasn't able to run drinks and snack service and they were constantly very sorry about the situation. Overall decent experience, better than Air Canada, at least Delta serves something. Though It would have been nice to have bilingual crew on-board on flights to/from Montreal.

"actively working to be the worst"

(United States)

Not Verified | Delta used to be the best airline by far. I'd go out of my way to fly them and recommend to anybody who would listen. I even went so far as to buy a significant amount of stock in the company. In the last year or so, they seem to have gone from wanting to be the best to actively working to be the worst. From their tech systems failing and not talking to each other, surreptitiously deleting eCredits, outsourcing customer service to poorly trained non-English speakers, gate agents no longer caring, destroying their loyalty and lounge programs, actively throwing up roadblocks to simple conveniences like being able to book family reservations together to avoid upgrading long-time formerly loyal customers, to customer service agents providing wildly incorrect information and going so far as to straight up lying to customers, Delta has achieved the impossible and become a worse airline than United or Spirit. Avoid at all costs.

"friendly on the first flight"

(Germany)

Trip Verified | Flight from Munich to Atlanta in a retrofitted 767. a bit of a narrow seat for business class but good enough for an afternoon nap. Service was outstandingly friendly on the first flight, with good food and drinks options. Purser was always present with a personal word, informing each business class passenger about details such as arrival and departure gate for connecting, which is a great thing, knowing how huge Atlanta‘s airport is. Onward flight on a pretty old 757, which definitely did see better days. Though flight was 3+ hour, with no need whatsoever dinner was rushed. Limited choice of food, actually only one option was available when I was asked (was seated on 1B). And be careful, if you switch sort of drink, you get the different drink in a plastic cup, as they load (purser told me) one real glass per passenger on such „short flights“ (3,5 hr was the flight). So, yes intercontinental Delta was absolutely worth it, but on the medium range part of the journey I was really disappointed.

"cancel within 24 hours of booking"

(United States)

Not Verified |   As a frequent traveler, I've encountered my fair share of airline policies, but none have been as frustrating and disappointing as Delta Airlines' ticket cancellation policy. Let me start by saying that the 24-hour cancellation window is ridiculously short and unforgiving. Life happens, plans change, and sometimes circumstances force you to alter your travel arrangements beyond this restrictive timeframe. However, Delta seems to lack any empathy or flexibility in this regard. Recently, I had to cancel a ticket I had purchased due to unforeseen circumstances. Imagine my dismay when I realized that I had to cancel within 24 hours of booking to be eligible for any refund whatsoever. This policy is not only inconvenient but also entirely unreasonable. It essentially forces travelers into a rushed decision-making process, leaving no room for any change of plans or emergencies that may arise shortly after booking. But the disappointment didn't end there. Upon canceling my ticket, I was shocked to discover that Delta imposed a hefty $99 cancellation fee. To add insult to injury, they offered me a measly $91 refund for a ticket that originally cost $200. It's simply outrageous that Delta sees fit to penalize their customers to such an extent for exercising their right to cancel within the designated timeframe. The $99 cancellation fee policy feels like a slap in the face to loyal customers who have already invested a significant amount of money in their travel plans. It's a clear case of Delta prioritizing profit over customer satisfaction and goodwill. Such predatory practices not only tarnish the airline's reputation but also erode trust and loyalty among passengers.

"has become our go to airline"

(Australia)

Not Verified | In January 2020 my husband and I did a mercy dash to be with our youngest son while he underwent chemotherapy for cancer. We booked tickets at an excellent price for a 1 month trip. When the month was drawing to a close it became obvious that we would need to extend our stay. Our travel agent advised us that the change meant a substantial increase to the cost of the journey home. However, when the reason for the change was explained to Delta Airlines they matched the original ticket price and only charged a small fee for the change. This consideration at a very taxing and vulnerable time of our lives was so appreciated that Delta has become our “go to” airline whenever we fly to America, which will now be on a regular basis as our son married one of his treating nurses and our first grandchild is on the way! Thank you Delta for being part of our family.

"Ruined our trip"

(United States)

Not Verified |   Planned our dream vacation months in advance. Paying for our tickets with a live agent. Making sure all set even calling before departure to and home. Delta sold our flight home, without notice. Arriving at airport. Totally upset. Ruined our trip. They put us on a flight we did not want to fly and book in the beginning, flying to an airport we did not want to go to. Sat for 5 hours in Chicago. Before flying back to south bend. United. Not who we booked. Not who we paid for our flight.
