Not Verified | This airport has no where to plug or charge your phone! It is like we are living in a third world country! When I have tried to charge it on a couch portal, it wasn’t working. Most do not work. People were standing next to the plugs that were used for upkeep of floors etc. There are no stand up charging stations as well. Better have your phone charged otherwise you are out of luck if your flight is cancelled or delayed. Otherwise it is a clean airport. Enough seating most of the time. Could use more variety of eating options.

Not Verified | YYZ T1 generally has the slowest baggage reclaim of any airport I’ve ever used, although for my Feb 2024 flight bags did come out very quickly. For once. Washrooms normally have a low level of filth. Sometimes the crowding at the international departures area in T1 for gates E70 through E80 is horrible. I’ve experienced similar overcrowding at the T3 departure gates used by Cathay and Air France. The Plaza Premium lounges are overcrowded and awful. AC ML lounges are pretty substandard compared to, say, ANZ Sydney or KLM Schiphol. Going through US or Cdn immigration at T1 is a breeze if you have Nexus and normally painfully time consuming if you don’t. Though it really doesn’t matter if you’re returning to Canada because you’ll typically wait 45 minutes to an hour for your bag anyway. They should put a day spa or short stay hotel in T1 baggage claim so people will have something to do while they wait. The carpets all seem dirty and worn (why carpets in high traffic areas anyway?). The only good thing about T1 is AC’s separate business class check in area A, which is uncharacteristically well done for both that airline and that airport. Really terrible breakfast food in the T1 US departures area. There’s a rating for airport staff - what’s that? My wife had a LAG employee approach her to ask if she needed directions or assistance. She was just waiting for me to come out of the toilets, not in distress or anything. Not in a million years would that happen at YYZ.

✅ Trip Verified | We transited through YYZ on our way to London from Bogota. Our Bogota-Toronto flight arrived a bit late, leaving us with a bit more than one hour transit time. It was pretty tight. What made it worse is that the Connection Gate E was closed and no staffs around. Star Alliance transfer desk was also closed. We have to run a long way to get through the immigration and then to the boarding area. The good thing is that we found staff along the way that are super helpful! Another incident that happened to us was with our checked luggages. The Air Canada flight that we took to get us to London was delayed because of the luggages and we only found out later in London that the luggages didn’t come with us (it was almost 2 hour of delay but the ground staffs didn’t manage to transfer our luggages!). When we received them 2 days later, we found out that the luggages have been opened and there was no note inside to tell us that they did some inspection on them.

“airport does look outdated”

Not Verified | I returned to Toronto from a trip overseas. Pearson airport does look outdated and many signs were not clear I had to find staff for assistance but even that wasn't easy. As other airports staff were stationed within sight. When I found a staff while I was going through the entry check point, the female staff with long breads said out loud "READ!". Imagine a new comer to Canada or any foreigner who doesn't speak English well encounters this type of reply, this is going to be the first impression of Canada for them. I really should have addressed her if she's not assisting people and tell them to read signs, what is she there for? Not to mention disgusting washrooms, and lack of food options and shops. I felt embarrassed this is what we Canadians offer as first impression.

✅ Trip Verified | Worst arrival hall for immigration and customs. Not equipped well to deal multiple flights and large crowds in an efficient way. Staff not well trained, lack of manners and ride behaviours. My flight landed 3:30 pm and it took 2.5 hours to get me out. Small arrival hall with line ups and lack of help and lack of modern technology. Staff shortages, and messy outlook. Many 3rd world country airports are better in handling passengers.

✅ Trip Verified | For years my experience with this airport was bad, but this time it was a nice experience: processing fast, customs fast, etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Airport was clean. Washrooms were dirty, but I saw a passenger empty a bag of dirty diapers in the toilet! I pity the people who have to clean this.

✅ Trip Verified | I arrived at Pearson International Terminal 3 from a flight from Amsterdam. Arrivals hall and customs, while busy, seemed to be fairly efficient and timely. After that things went downhill. I found the signage and information available to me to navigate through a seldom-visited airport from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 was sketchy at best and missing at worst. Very poor signage to get to the Terminal train, although I found it after much searching. Then, a wait of 3.5 hours to get on the next plate to Vancouver, only to be on-board for an extra 1.5 hours waiting for a baggage/ freight problem. Upon arrival, my one checked suitcase did not arrive. This is totally unacceptable - for a bag to not make it from Terminal 3 to 1 in that length of time. Baggage services in Vancouver were helpful in setting up a delayed luggage ticket BUT the conversation led me to believe that this is a common occurrence with Toronto connections. I would rate Toronto Pearson at best a 3 out of 10 for performance.

Not Verified | Departure was acceptable. Arrival was not. Poor signage, arrival area congested and people milling around all over. Poor instructions on E gates. Many CBSA people stood around watching the shambles, but making little attempt to help. Baggage handling slow and baggage hall another shambles. Announcements almost unintelligible. As Canadas major hub this airport is a disgrace. Will find an alternate in future rather than endure this again.
