✅ Trip Verified | It’s a shame to see custom officials very openly request bribes from Asian citizens, mostly Chinese. Everyone in our line could see what was happening as Chinese were first refused by custom officer, sometimes gave money directly to be refused by the officer and told to hide it in their passport … plenty of cameras but not checking officers, a clear sign this is organized at top level. A shame to give such an image to a country. Same applies on arrival. Never been bothered myself as westerner but seen this on every flight. Besides this the airport is bad bad bad. The lounges are a shame, only VN staff is upgrading the experience by being friendly. On most days you spend 30 min minimum at customs. The choice of food or drinks is limited and very expensive.

✅ Trip Verified | Entered Vietnam via SGN airport. Greeted by massive immigration queues - approximately 2 hours long. Absolute shambles. Travelled later domestically within Vietnam through SGN airport. SGN airport is old, dirty and outdated. Staff quite rude throughout, especially immigration and security. Long winded outdated check in processes plus outdated cumbersome security screening even for domestic flights. Visa application for Vietnam, also difficult and outdated. This airport and it staff, are a sad relic of an ancient world, that needs to rapidly modernise to bring it in line with both the rest of the country and the rest of the world. SGN airport experience in general, would make me think twice about coming to Vietnam again for a holiday

✅ Trip Verified | Sadly, this is one of the worst airports. Huge, long and unorganised immigration queue on both departure and arrival. Also seem the tour group got the priority, to jump the queue or have a special lane open for them while other passenger waiting up to 1 hr to get thru the immigration. After immigration then another long queue for security. We arrive 2 hours but barely make the boarding time. Adding on the aging computer system adding worse waiting and processing time. Ho Chi Minh is the central hub for both businesses and tourism. Need hugely improve to serve international tourists and business travelers.

✅ Trip Verified | What a sad way to end my holiday in Vietnam. The airport is so dirty. The gate lounge (both of them as our gate changed) was like there had been a party before us. At 6am I would have presumed they would have cleaned it up. Bathrooms were also dirty and missing soap! And had urine on the floor. Seating is poor with limited charging options. You have to keep signing in to free WiFi to view ads. But the worst part was the price gouging with food and drink. All prices are in USD and equate to up to 10 times local prices. The domestic airport here has normal prices. Clearly they want to take as much money as they can from tourists even if its by unconscionable means.

Not Verified | One of the worst airports that I've seen. Insane queue lines and staff who are unhelpful. We were waiting anxiously in the queue and that was a sign. A custom staff approached us and "offered" sympathies that we are running out of time and then "offered" to usher & open up a free line for us. Then came the big reveal. Told us to pay up a sum of SGD $100 (for 4 pax) in order to clear immigration successfully. We didn't pay and he rudely told us to get back to the official queue line. Luckily in the end we managed to get on your flight at the last minute. Blatant corruption!

Not Verified | This airport is is not a bad airport and has a good amount of seating and duty free to dirt your needs. The lounges have many amenities and clean restrooms, but that is where the good things end. Airport Immigration officers are absolutely the worst of the worst. As a Vietnamese entering Vietnam using a United States passport the immigration officers gave me so much attitude and kept saying I couldn’t bring this or I couldn’t bring that. They attempted to confiscate my MacBook that I had in my backpack. I do not recommend this airport.

Not Verified | It's been at least 10 times since I flew in and out of Ho Chi Minh City and never once have they failed to amuse me with their tricks of extortion. For any passengers transiting or landing at their airport, always remember to print out the hard copy of your hotels booking, flight return and most important to show whatever evidence you have when hopping around in Vietnam. Those immigration officers will make a hell of your time just to "see" your hardcopy instead of acknowledging the ticket via mobile email in order to collect some money to drink their high class Vietnam cà phê đá".

✅ Trip Verified | The domestic terminal is really atrocious. I don't want to write any complaints as a Vietnamese but the custom officers are so rude, usually ask for bribery, unprofessional, stressful, they are not trained well and there was no sense of service. The airport is being seriously overloaded and really needs to be updated. Extremely long queues and I saw there were 3 Singaporeans asked to requeue, cannot be worse. The airport acts as the first impression to foreigners, it is necessary to be improved.

Not Verified | Worst airport of all time! Airport staff or on a power trip! People are rude and they stopped us for 30 minutes and almost made us miss our flight because they didn’t believe we were using a real Super 8 film. Clearly they have no idea what they are doing and want to be difficult! they don’t want to help and scream at customers who are waiting in line. And they charged $150USD per person for our rushed visa! It’s expensive and not a nice airport. Be warned. I would highly suggest to never fly to HCM or take VietJet Air unless you want to be very stressed and have a bad experience.

✅ Trip Verified | Arrived from the domestic terminal and joined a massive queue for immigration and security check. Normal attitude from staff, always seems to be on a power trip when in uniform. Had intentionally finished a bottle of water, knowing we couldn’t take an open bottle thru security. Once thru immigration, went to get something to eat, every food outlet was priced in USD, and massively overpriced. Paid over 1 million dong for 3 basic dishes and 4 beers-robbed. Got a bottle of water each for the 9-hour flight, $5USD. Going downstairs to gate 26, a temporary security desk did a bag check, water was not allowed to be taken downstairs - had to be tipped out. Questions to staff, and the usual arrogant rubbish, buy water downstairs they say. Went downstairs with a really wanting to get out of this country. Every outlet downstairs had their drinks not for sale. Buy water upstairs, I was told. Got on the plane and had to harass flight attendants to get 2 x 500 bottles over 9 hours. Felt like it was an attempt to rip cash out of weary travelers. HCMC airport can go to hell. WIFI was impossible to access.
